What inspired me to start DreamWon?

During the COVID-19 pandemic, it was nearly impossible to be a part of in-person service projects. A unique way I discovered I could serve others was through the proliferation of virtual services like Zoom. I began to tutor virtually for many smaller organizations, and I discovered how much of a joy it was to be both a teacher and a friend to my students. Towards the end of the pandemic, a family in Brazil reached out to my father asking if someone could tutor their son in English. The shift back to normality initially made me hesitant to reach out, but I knew that a small piece of my time could become invaluable to another. After reaching out and beginning the tutoring sessions, I started to recognize that there were a vast amount of children across the world who had barriers preventing a typical school education.
